490 _aODPM News Release
_v(2004/0301) 7 December 2004 (2)
520 _aThe east and southwest of England are the two main beneficiaries of increased government spending on housing during 2006-07 and 2007-08. All regions gain from increased funding for investment in affordable housing or housing market renewal. A consultation has been launched by the ODPM which is seeking views from stakeholders on the regional split of the £5.5bn allocated through regional housing pots over the two years. This includes an extra £500m provided for social rented housing in areas of high demand to turn round the growth in homeless households living in temporary accommodation. The consultation period ends on 4 February 2005 and is available to view on the website. http://www.odpm.gov.uk
