520			_aThe Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) UK Residential Survey for August 2023 shows house prices under pressure in face of high mortgage rates while immense tenant demand creates imbalance in the lettings market. Looking at the data on home buyer demand, a headline net balance of -47% of respondents reported a decline in enquiries over the month. This is broadly in-line with the negative results returned for this metric in each of the previous two reports. Moreover, all parts of the UK continue to see a significant pull-back in demand according to the August results
