500			_aIn April 2025, revised forms were published to account for the introduction of the new role of Principal Designer (Building Regulations) following the passing of the Building Safety Act 2022 and the introduction of The Building Regulations, Part 2A. A new Scope of Services has been published. Revisions have been made to the existing forms to introduce and distinguish between the new role of Principal Designer (Building Regulations) from the existing role of Principal Designer (CDM 2015). Because the Building Safety Act 2022 only applies in England, not all of the same amendments have been made across the jurisdictional versions for Scotland and Northern Ireland.

Members and others involved in the appointment of surveyors are encouraged to use these forms when considering surveyors for a wide variety of different disciplines within the construction process and related fields.
