It illustrates, through a project study, the impact of compressing and overlapping design activities in a fast-track programme in order to expedite project delivery. An in-depth delay analysis is presented to show the impact of fast-track related problems on the construction duration. Finally, based on the project study presented in this paper and in reference to other fast-track projects which have experienced difficulties, recommendations are made for the effective utilization of this accelerated technique.
