520 _aA paper presented to the South East England Joint Branch Minerals Division 28 February 1985. The author looks at the image of the minerals valuer and possible threats to his future, resulting from failure to make clear to e clients the special knowledge he has to offer, as well as the calculations that have to be applied to obtain an accurate valuation. After describing the valuation techniques for various types of operation, the author concludes that valuations must be geared to customers wishes, and that working with members of other professions should not be avoided. A response is made by John Guest.
