520 _aWith particular reference to lawyers , this article describes the provisions of EC Directive 89/48 . Under the Directive, which establishes a general system for the mutual recognition for higher education diplomas, lawyers and other professions qualified in the UK and in the rest of the EEC will in principle be able to practise anywhere in the Community by January 1991.
