| 520 | _aThis paper describes the work of the minerals surveyor in making evaluations and assessments in subsidence damage effects arising from coal mining in Great Britain at tactical and strategic planning stages. On the basis that environmental and social implications of widespread severe damage is unacceptable, the author illustrates the alternative steps available to mitigate the effects of mining . There are examples of interesting cases or situations, where modifications to mining or preventative and precautionary works to buildings and structures have been undertaken. (Journal abstract) | ||
