520 _aCA 30 March 1990. Appeal by plaintiff (S) against High Court decision dismissing its appeal to quash decision granting planning permission to site owners. Case concerned listed and unlisted buildings on land in a conservation area which No 1 Poultry Ltd (P) and City Acre Property Investment (C) had been granted listed building and demolition consent which S opposed, favouring refurbishment rather than demolition. S alleged that the SOS for Environment had failed to give reasons for his decision as laid down in Town and Country Planning (Procedure) Rules 1988 . It was held that the SOS had failed to give adequate reasons for going against the usual policy of preserving listed buildings . Appeal allowed.
