It was held that a poster company, which had been granted exclusive right to maintain poster panels on the edge of a site, which was later compulsorily purchased, did have an interest in the land and was entitled to compensation under Land Compensation Act 1961 s1. In addition the company had a right to possession of the land and therefore entitled to disturbance payment under s37 of the Act.
