520 _aQueens Moat Houses, Britain`s third largest hotel combine, suffered a pre-tax loss of £101.5m for 1992 partly due to a dramatic reduction of £803.9m in the value of their property portfolio following a revaluation by Jones Lang Wootton of the companies 189 hotels. This has lead to questions about the methods of valuing commercial property and the role of the RICS`s Red Book. The RICS has begun a inquiry into the matter.
