520 _aLT 21 May 1994. S, the claimant, owned a building which was in part listed. In seeking to develop the newer part, S applied for listed building consent necessary for the partial demolition of certain features in the older part. Consent was refused by the SoS Environment on 4 June 1991. S sought determination of whether the works constituted an alteration of a listed building under the Planning (Listed Buildings and Conservation Areas) Act 1990 and if so, the date from which payment by the compensating authority would be due. "Held" that the alterations could be so described and that S was eligible for compensation from 4 June 1991.
