| 520 | _aCA 23 October 1997. In 1972 Manchester and Salford Methodist Mission (represented by H) owned two churches included in a slum clearance compulsory purchase order by M. It was agreed that M would meet the costs of a single replacement church. Work began in 1980, M reimbursing the Mission for building and associated costs. In 1985 an amount of compensation payable was agreed, but a dispute arose as to what further sums were due as interest. The High Court gave judgment for the Mission`s contention that interest was payable on the sum paid of £718,420. M`s appeal dismissed. | ||
