520 _a"Hillingdon LBC v ARC ltd" CA 7 April 1998. The respondent council made a compulsory purchase order in 1980 which related, inter alia, to land of which the appellants held a lease. The council entered and took possession of the land in 1982 pursuant to a notice to treat and notice to enter. The appellants served a notice of claim in response to the notice to treat in 1982. Then a more detailed claim was made in respect of the works in 1992 and a subsequent claim under the Land Compensation Act 1973 s52 were both rejected for failing to provide sufficient proof. The appellants referred to the LT in 1995. The LT declined jurisdiction to decide whether the appellant`s claim was statute-barred by the Limitation Act 1980 s9 in 1996. The appellant`s claim was found to be time-barred. The appellant appealed. Held; appeal dismissed.
