_aRICS Press Release _v27 May 1999 (4) |
||
| 520 | _aThe RICS in Scotland feels that proposals to introduce sellers' surveys in Scotland may be a sledgehammer to crack a nut. They are proposed as the solution to multiple surveys, but the RICS does not feel that these are a major problem in Scotland, except in Edinburgh and parts of Glasgow. It also notes that such surveys could only be valid for three months before needing updating, and in the slow markets of most parts of Scotland, this would transfer the problem of multiple surveys from buyer to seller. It does however recommend the use of a sales pack by sellers containing all the relevant searches, building warrants, title deeds etc. These comments have been submitted to the government in response to the green paper Investing in modernisation: an agenda for Scotland's housing. | ||
