520 _aA survey commissioned by Axis into the fees paid by clients for six types of professional service shows that fees have dropped to 'the point of no return' for less able firms. The average fees earned were: architects 4.26%, quantity surveyors 1.89%, project managers 1.71%, mechanical and electrical engineers 1.61%, structural engineers 1.45%, and planning supervisors 0.43%. There was little difference in fees from public and private sector clients. Table giving broad regional breakdown.
