| 520 | _aGovernment has published rules on disposal of school playing fields. These require that proceeds from the sale are ploughed back into sports provision or education; that remaining playing fields and sports facilities meet the needs of local schools and the community and that the views of local people have been fully taken into account. The National Playing Fields Association says the criteria are not strong enough. Last October it became compulsory for such disposals to be referred to the SoS Education, but none so far have been refused. | ||
