_v [1999] RA 229-244(9)
520 _aLT 24 May 1999. Land owned by Dudley MBC was entered in the 1990 rating list with an assessment of £10,050 rateable value. The council proposed to reduce the assessment to £1 and when the VO refused to alter the list, an appeal was heard. The valuation tribunal reduced the assessment to £1,800 rateable value. The VO claimed that the land was a contractor's compound and contended for £8,000 rateable value. Council accepted the portable buildings were rateable but claimed there was no rateable occupation at the rest of the site. Held the appeal must be allowed and the hereditament entered in the rating list at £8,000 rateable value.
