520 _aIn June 2000, the International Valuation Standards Committee published its latest valuation guidelines as IVS 2000. In an attempt to achieve a harmonised approach to valuation it is now monitoring the key differences between its own guidelines and the main UK and US valuation standards. Before endorsing IVS 2000 other valuation standards authorities, such as the RICS and the Appraisal Institute, are seeking to ensure there are no fundamental differences between it and their own rules. The implication is that a common standard may not be far off. Includes a listing of the IVSC's objectives and a diagram of its standards structure.
