520 _aAn efficient transport system is essential to the running of London's businesses and therefore to the value of its property. Congestion charging is one of the strategies to be introduced by the new mayor. The proposals for congestion charging suggest it should apply to the area bounded by London's inner ringroad, with charges of £5 for cars and £15 for heavy goods vehicles between the hours of 7am and 7pm. Also discusses Transport Development Areas (TDAs) - high-density mixed-use developments around transport interchanges - which the Transport Strategy is likely to endorse. Considers views put forward about these issues by the RICS and others in the property industry.
