| 520 | _aIn response to the government's "Revitalising health & safety strategy", the quarrying industry has embarked on its own "Hard Targets" initiative, designed to cut the number of quarrying injuries and fatalities by half over the next four years. The Hard Targets programme concentrates on five key issues: mobile plant, behavioural safety, the Contractors Safety Passport Scheme, guarding and occupational health. To promote the health and safety message across the industry, the QPA plans to publish details of these five areas in a leaflet for quarry workers. Article also discusses the the concept of risk management, in the light of government proposals on corporate killing and revitalising health and safety. | ||
