520 _aDiscusses a landlord's notice to quit under the Agricultural Holdings Act 1986 Schedule 3 Case B. Previous case law has allowed landlords to be relatively confident of success when serving a notice to quit under Schedule 3 Case B. The recent case of "Floyer-Acland and others v Osmond" challenged this view and reminded landlords to be more cautious and well versed to deal with a variety of technical arguments. Discusses the case in detail, listing the tenants key arguments and the courts response. Concludes that landlord and tenant representative bodies are currently negotiating to reform the compensation scheme for tenants, and advises that landlords should hold discussions with tenants to avoid reaching the service of notices.
