520 _aLooks at the focus on construction best practice initiatives in the wake of the Egan report, "Rethinking Construction", and whether they will make a difference. The article compares the Egan report with previous government attempts to improve the performance of the construction industry and considers that the main difference lies in Egan's view of a radically changed industry with design and production reorganised along world class manufacturing lines. It examines briefly the Movement for Innovation (M4I) and related initiatives that support Egan's report and ends by concluding that these will help "Rethinking Construction" have a real impact on the construction industry.
