| 520 | _aConsiders the implication of "R v Oxfordshire CC ex parte Sunningwell Parish Council" on village greens. Village greens are now a source of of difficulty for land developers as they search for suitable building land in response to the high demand for new housing in the 1990s. Communities have discovered the Commons Registration Act 1965 s13(b) which allows the registration of 'any land [which] becomes ... a town or village green'. It is now becoming difficult for a developer to tell if the land is a new village green. The advice given to prospective buyers is to be aware of the dangers of buying open and apparently unused land and even to observe the uses to which it is put before approaching to buy. | ||
