520 _aDiscusses contemporary theories of ethics and their origins and definitions and how they can be applied to the surveying profession. The results of a questionnaire sent to members of the Hong Kong Institute of Surveyors (HKIS), which demonstrate that there is a discrepancy between the standards of professional ethics of senior and junior surveyors and between the expectations of the general public and surveyors, are discussed. Concludes that the findings will enable better rules of conduct to be drafted in the future. Includes the questionnaire form, references and statistical data.
