520 _aExamines the recent case "ABB Zantingh Ltd v Zedal Building Services". Mirror Group Newspapers contracted ABB to design, build and maintain two electricity generating stations at its printing works. ABB fell into dispute with its subcontractor Zedal, and when the dispute came to adjudication tried to argue that their engineering processing work fell outside of the remit of the Construction Act 1996. It was ruled that because the primary purpose of the site was printing and not power generation, the Construction Act 1998 applied and the adjudicator had jurisdiction.
