_v5(1) June 2000, 185-208(24)
520 _aDiscusses the limitation periods that are applicable to claims in the tort of conversion and in bailment. Concludes there are many inconsistencies in the English law of limitation periods, and reform is well overdue. Also looks at the law of other jurisdictions, which affect claims for the recovery of stolen chattels. Describes the controversy that has surrounded the drafting of the Unidroit Convention. Suggests that any form of international or European Union harmonisation is unlikely to be achieved in this area. (For part I of this article see v4(4) December 1999 p323-346).
