520 _aConsiders the future for Regional Development Agencies (RDAs), suggesting that high expectations are not being matched by adequate resources. The government's decision to replace the Single Regeneration Budget (SRB) with a Single Budget will not be implemented until 2003, leaving little guidance for money allocation for RDAs in 2001/2002. Looks at the guidelines set out in two documents, "Strengthening regional accountability" and "Regional development agencies - building on success", and highlights the absence of housing in the period 2001/2002. Concludes that RDAs are not being empowered to work effectively for regional regeneration over the next few years.
