520 _aDiscusses the property industry's response to the government white paper on electronic conveyancing. Under the proposals the Law of Property (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 1989 will be amended to allow electronic contracts to be deemed to be a document in writing providing certain conditions are met. The Land Registration Act 1925 will also be amended to permit the disposition of registered land electronically, although only those that have prescribed electronic form will be allowed. Notes that electronic signatures are the key to the process.
