520 _aExamines appeals against arbitrators awards under Arbitration Act 1996 s68 with particular reference to "Groundshire v VHE Construction". In the case Groundshire had argued that the arbitrator had failed to notify the parties properly of his approach, had erred in his interpretation of the contract valuation clauses, and has used his own expertise without giving either party the chance to consider his approach. The judge, however, did not consider that these constituted the 'serious irregularity' required by the Act before the court can intervene and dismissed the appeal.
