The European Commission approved five new schemes submitted by government and known collectively as the Partnership Support Schemes (PSS). The process now conforms with European rules on state aid. The article questions whether the changes could negatively affect regeneration as many of the schemes approved under the previous Partnership Investment Programme do not qualify under the new programme.
