520 _aScottishPower has announced plans to build Britain's biggest windfarm, 10 miles south of Glasgow; it will also be Europe's largest onshore windfarm. The £150m development will increase Britain's wind generation capacity by almost 60%, helping to reach the government's target of generating 10% of the country's electricity from renewable energy (at present the level is 3%). Greenpeace has also teamed up with Innogy (part of Npower) to offer 'green electricity' from existing windfarms and a proposed development at North Hoyle.
