520 _aThe internet provides the growing number of small-scale farmers a new platform for marketing their farm products directly to consumers. A survey of Smallfarms.com members, a virtual market place for direct marketers of farm products, was conducted to understand the problems and opportunities. Results show that a majority have found their efforts successful: most are optimistic about future online revenues. However, many also recognise that they lack the skills and time required to implement successful internet marketing strategies. Taken from journal abstract.
