520 _aCA 31 July 2001. "Speedwell Estates Ltd and another v Dalziel and others", the applicant landlords S, were involved in three different actions, which concerned the same issue. The respondents D and others each held a house under a long lease at a low rent. The tenants claimed entitlement to acquire the freehold of their houses, under the Leasehold Reform Act 1967 part 1 as amended. S asserted that the tenants' notices failed to meet statutory requirements and sought declarations that the tenants were not entitled to acquire the freeholds. Application allowed. Appeals dismissed.
