Paul Bagust, RICS faculty executive responsible for auctioneering, explains, ' We need the same conditions of sale across the whole auctioneering industry, and I hope that this is what will happen early next year. Conditions of sale have just evolved and auctioneers have tagged bits on, or just made bits up. They have become a bit messy'. The RICS has commissioned plain english lawyer Paul Clark to rewrite the conditions. Comment so far on the draft proposals has been favourable.
