This article briefly reports on the development of uninterrupible power systems (UPS) by Emerson Electric UK Ltd which are designed to replace mains supply when a failure occurs and to condition the mains supply so that frequency variations or line noises are not transmitted to the computers. This prevents system crashes and data corruption.
