520 _aPresents the results of a survey on attitudes to innovation in construction, funded by the DTI and conducted by engineer Buro Happold and "Building Design" (BD). The survey found that 84% of BD readers felt that the construction industry is not innovative enough, and 88% said that any innovation in building projects is poorly managed. Barriers to innovative construction projects include cost, time, poor co-operation between project member teams, fear of failure and client's general dislike of innovation. The survey also found that the majority of construction professionals ranked themselves highly in their ability to innovate. Graphs. Full report available at http://ticonline.co.uk.
