520 _aExamines the Employment Tribunals (Constitution and Rules of Procedure) Regulations 2001 which have made the following changes to the conduct of employment tribunals: tribunals can award costs against parties of up to £10,000; the Working Time Regulations allow a one-month period qualification period for holiday pay; the Sex Discrimination (Indirect Discrimination and Burden of Proof) Regulations 2001 implement the EU Directive on the burden of proof; the minimum wage has risen to £4.10 per hour; and proposals to change the TUPE regulations are out for consultation. Suggests that many in the construction industry will be affected by the minimum wage increase and ACAS' new arbitration scheme to resolve unfair dismissal disputes.
