520 _aSpeaking at an RICS session at the CBI National Conference in Birmingham, leading economist Roger Bootle warned business leaders of the dangers of boardroom ignorance on property issues. He noted that many businesses only think about property when a downturn approaches, at which stage it may be too late. Bootle suggested that many major companies have not discussed property at board level for three years. The RICS session also unveiled new case studies of how a variety of UK businesses have used property to boost their profits, or seen it cause their downfall.
