520 _aIn this article, the author revisits a topic he wrote about in 1998 entitled 'The importance of giving notice', which considered the requirements in contracts to give notice as the first step in the procedure for securing an extension of time. The matter has been recently raised again, in Australia in the potentially important case of "Gaymark Investments Pty Ltd v Walter Construction Group Ltd" (1999) where the court came to a different conclusion that no extension of time could be granted.
