_aRICS Planning and Development Faculty News _v12 December 2001, (1) |
||
| 520 | _aRICS has welcomed government's planning green paper, published on 12 December 2001, which promises to create a more streamlined system, which responds more rapidly to changing social and economic trends. Perhaps the most significant move by government is to remove the role of the county councils in the planning process, thereby increasing the role of the regional and local authorities. Among the changes particularly welcomed by RICS are: the creation of Business Planning Zones, and additional compensation for businesses affected by compulsory purchase orders.
