520 _aDiscusses the role of the expert witness in a case between two architects, Gareth Pearce and Rem Koolhaas. Pearce accused Koolhaas of plagiarising his designs and engaged architect Mr Wilkey as his expert witness to explain the alleged copying. However, the case never came to trial because the evidence from the expert witness was deemed biased and irrational; Wilkey never visited the building in question and did not actually consider how an architect could have carried out the alleged copying.
