_v214(21) 6/13 December 2001, 58(1)
520 _aExamines the case "Pearce v Ove Arup Partnership Ltd and Remment Lucas Koolhaas" where Pearce, a model maker in Koolhaas' London partnership, Office for Metropolitan Architecture, accused Koolhaas of stealing his final year project design for the Docklands Town Hall for use on the Kunsthal. Not only did the judge dismiss Pearce's case but he also criticised Pearce's expert witness, Wilkey, for the 'fantastic' nature of his evidence and for failing to do his work as an expert witness properly. The judge also pointed out that there are no specific sanctions against experts who breach their duty to the court but implied that they should be referred to their professional body.
