After a brief historical overview, the modernisation of GPS will be discussed; in particular the signals to be made available in the coming years to civil users of the system. Although Galileo is still under development, it is demonstrated that high-precision applications will benefit significantly from an integrated GPS/Galileo positing system. References. Graphs.
