520 _aA local initiative the Parrett Catchment Project (PCP) in Somerset, is one of five government pilot schemes using catchment-based flood management. PCP is adopting a radical new approach to flooding - flood mitigation is considered for the whole of the Somerset levels and Moors, rather than by a site by site basis.The scheme is seeking government backing in order for it to work properly.
