_v(196/02) 20 May 2002, (3)
520 _aEnvironment Minister Michael Meacher has announced the results of three pieces of DEFRA research on noise pollution in the UK. The general findings indicate that outdoor noise levels remained almost constant over the past decade, although people perceive noise levels from neighbours to be worse. The Building Research Establishment (BRE) conducted the Noise Incidence Study (NIS) and Noise Attitudes Study (NAS). DEFRA carried out a review of European legislation and procedures relating to neighbour and neighbourhood noise. http://www.defra.gov.uk/news/2002/020520c.htm
