Discusses the work done at Abbots Hall Farm where the Environment Agency and Essex Wildlife Trust are undertaking a project of managed retreat or managed realignment on the Essex coast. Two other projects discussed are; sea defences on the Humber where Scarborough Borough Council has used Accropodes to provide a form of armour against the sea and the River Severn at Bewdley where the EA used dismountable defences imported from Germany.
