_v DN:19/02/1391 30 September 2002, (2)
520 _aRules to simplify public procurement language in the EU have been endorsed by the European Parliament. The Regulation on Common Procurement Vocabulary (CPV) aims to ensure that the subject matter of contracts can be understood and translated into all official EU languages. The CPV should help potential suppliers to identify and select suitable procurement opportunities in any Member State. The Regulation comes into force in 2003. Use of the CPV will only become mandatory once the proposed Public Procurement Directives (Environmental and Social) comes into force. It will replace the nomenclatures currently in use. A revision of existing CPV terminology will be published soon.
