520 _aA study by the Greater London Authority has shown that London's suburbs are thriving despite fears that they were becoming affected by inner city ills such as drugs, crime and unemployment. The report found that London's town centres have not been as badly affected by out-of-town developments as feared but the main problems were poor transport links and decline of some shopping centres.
