490 _aJoseph Rowntree Foundation Press Release
_v17 October 2002, (2)
520 _aMajor evaluation of Section 106 (S106) planning agreements funded by the Joseph Rowntree Foundation along with other bodies including RICS argues that the growing use of 'planning gain' powers to secure social housing from developers has done little to raise the total number of affordable homes being provided. It was calculated that S106 agreements have resulted in fewer than one in ten housing completions which is around 12 000 homes being made affordable each year.
