520			_aCHD 17 June 1987. The applicant applied under Mines (Working Facilities and Support) Act 1966 for the grant of rights over the landowners land to enable them to exploit an oilfield . The applicant already had substantial facilities on the estate including sites for drilling and extracting oil but sought additional rights saying the terms of the 1966 Act were satisfied as they were the exercise of rights granted by the production licence; so that the petroleum might be properly exploited; it was expedient in the national interest and it had not been possible to obtain the rights by private arrangement because the landlords had refused and demanded unreasonable terms. The basis of compensation was according to the applicants` existing use value , injurious affection and disturbances , capital sums for woodland , pipeline and cable easements and an additional allowance under Petroleum (Production) Act 1934 53(2)(b) as the acquisition was compulsory. The application was allowed.
